Console
Carved and gilded wood, Spanish brocatelle marble top, 93 x 132 x 67 cm
Very high quality furniture, it is a version of the French "console" in vogue in Naples in the 18th century. The carved and gilded wooden console has a support surface in Spanish brocatelle marble with a shaped edge with a characteristic golden yellow color interspersed with red-purple shades. Even maintaining a calibrated symmetry, the structure is perfectly in tune with the forms of the "Neapolitan baroque". The front is wavy and sculpted with leaves, flowers and curls which are repeated like a leitmotif also along the sides. The legs are shaped like an opposing volute on leafy feet.
