We present this elegant day bed more commonly known by the French term "dormeuse", a work of Neapolitan cabinet-making that can be dated with certainty to the era of the post-Napoleonic restoration, therefore between 1820 and 1830.

The piece of furniture is presented in all its newfound splendor after having been the subject of a wise restoration by our atelier using the traditional shellac and pad method. Ready to be placed in your living room, it will amaze your guests with its sumptuousness and elegance.
The imposing and massive wooden structure disappears before the sinuosity of its soft line and before the regal and measured aesthetic vein of the mahogany feather.
Along the development of the mahogany veneered structure, very refined and painstaking inlays in light maple essence, the latter used in period cabinet-making precisely to finish and "embroider" the large wooden surfaces of a darker nature. In fact, here, as in so much other furniture of this period, the chromatic research of two-tone obtained through the use of a light essence that shines on the vastness of a darker one is evident. Inlays that refine both the sides of the backrest, the two feet, the center line and the culminating part elegantly closed with a curl. Particularly pleasant, due to its shapes and dimensions,
this wonderful piece is also embellished with carving motifs in the culminating part of the headboard curl.
