Tomaso Bugoni (Venice? – 1767)
Portrait of girl with hat
Pastel on paper, 40 x 32 cm
The work in question is a portrait of a young girl executed in pastel on paper by the Venetian artist Tomaso Bugoni, circa the second half of the 18th century. The young woman is depicted half-length, with her head turned to one side and her gaze downward; a charming smile appears on her lips. She is dressed in the fashion of the time, with a yellow dress contrasting with blue trim, which ends in a bow on each shoulder. Flowers adorn her chest, completing the dress's decoration. The artist is attentive to color juxtapositions: on her head, the woman wears a hat that matches her dress. Her hair is also adorned with flowers of various colors, among which the pink stands out, perfectly matching the shade of the figure's cheeks.
The object is in good condition
