700th century console, 800th century mirror
A splendid piece of furniture, comprising an 18th-century wall-mounted console table and a 19th-century mirror, is an example of Italian cabinetmaking. Crafted entirely from finely hand-carved solid wood and embellished with sumptuous gold leaf gilding, the piece stands out for its opulence and harmonious proportions. In excellent vintage condition, the original gilding has been preserved with a warm and captivating patina. The wooden frame is perfectly stable and the top is made of breccia meticea from the Apuan Alps.
